There's also a "Heavy Duty Flasher" zip tied to the wire leading to the Oxygen Sensor. I'm thinking that is Ungo too.
Your suspicions are correct: those are not Jaguar bits original to your car. I have had many Series III cars and a number of them with alarm systems installed - always a nightmare. I am thinking of one incident in particular with a beautiful V12 Vanden Plas. As I was leaving my office parking lot the alarm system came to life in an embarrassing way: between the whooping wails of the siren a loud male voice proclaimed repeatedly "this car is being stolen...this car is being stolen..." ; the surprising thing was that pedestrians seemed entirely unperturbed by this. Needless to say, the alarm and every bit of wiring, the siren horn and any other non-Jaguar bit in there came off the next day.

Fun day today! Cleaned the engine so I could more actively see where oil is coming from. Drilled out that little valve for the evap canister, now the gas caps don't "whoosh" when they open and finally took apart that rear tray in the trunk to fix the cow bell when closing the doors problem. Tada' No more tinkle tinkle when the door closes. I want to keep going!

Days like this make up for the days when everything you touch turns to dog waste.

I refer to it as the bear story, Some days, the bear wins, others, you win".

As of now, I am enjoying my win over "the system". My Jaguar passed smog, I got my tab and certificate and it purrs.

I had to enlist the help of a guy in my assembly woman's office to nudge the DMV to sent my registration. Extracted from the DMV mess.

Oh, and the trip computer is back on line. Time is correct. Data weird.
but, not mere zero's.

There must be a correction factor for the 8 vs 6 and odd speedo data????

I know how o fix one, but will I?
