Jaguar XJ6 Series 1 (1968) Fuel Filter Location
Greetings everyone!
I have a simple question, does the 1968 Jaguar XJ6 have a fuel filter?
I have checked the service manual which says the 73 model has its fuel filter in the spare tyre compartment, which is not the case for the 68 model.
I've also looked under the car, followed the fuel tube along the chassis and no fuel filter to be seen. The same goes for the engine bay...no filter.
I know inside the fuel tanks there is a small filtering net but that's not it.
My mechanic took a look and told me the car probably has no fuel filter, is this possible?
Would really appreciate some enlightenment on this matter!

I cannot completely answer your question, but I'm sure someone can. My '73 has the filter mounted next to the spare tire right before the fuel line goes through the body, headed towards the engine. If no one gets back to you sooner, I will look when I get home tonight. I have the Series 1 manual on a disc somewhere and some old dealer books that I'll thumb through and see what I find.
