Greetings folks. Can anyone tell me what this lone wolf wire is. It’s been years since it’s been off and I just circled back to it ??
also I replaced the door latch for my passenger side and still not locking w auto system. I checked rods - lubed etc. next I guess try a more powerful fuse and also check on the inline fuse which is somewhere on this passenger side under Meath the carpet ??
that green wire connects to another green female wire from the compressor fuse mounted to a bracket by the compressor.
do you mean the door latch bolted to the rear jamb of the door with large phillips screws ?
You may have missed attaching the rod to it, it may have fallen out of view when you removed the old latch.
I’ll double check but I’m pretty sure it’s all rods are properly attached . What I did notice is a brown blue wire-(inline fuse maybe) attached to passenger seat fuse box may be loose. I dangles it and the auto locks stopped working. I dangles it again and they were working (still not enough to lock passenger front, but still working. Sa
The washer pump takes a light green wire so maybe that explains the stray wire?
But the compressor fuse, if you still have one, takes green, green/brown, and black wires...normally in a 3-socket black connector. But the connector often breaks, so.....
in my car, the windshield washer green wire has an amber color (originally "clear") spade terminal rubber cover.
the compressor fuse green wire has a whiteish color, rubber spade terminal cover, just like the green wire in the poster's picture.
and both of those wires come from different directiions. The wire in question comes around the front of the engine in a black vinyl sleeve.
yes I am talking about a 3-terminal plastic fuse attached to the side of the a/c compressor exactly where that green wire with whiteish cover wire is.
In your picture, I can't see the fuse or bracket, might have been removed?
Thanks for the response. It was removed years back if I remember correctly. I was trying to repair a connection and wound up taking it off. I’ll dig up the parts. My AC hasn’t worked in the 15 years = no driving after 10 am in July / Aug
The inline fuse for the locks was clipped to the top of this fuse box. I opened it up and cleaned the fuse - connections and still can’t get this passenger door to lock.
With the door trim removed operate the electric locks and observe the "throw" of the linkage from the lock motor. Does it the linkage move in both directions? Equal travel both ways? Equal ooomph both ways?
Does the door lock and unlock easily with the key?
It does not move the same way when you unlock it but you hear that it wants to. It almost feels like that bottom rod has to much tension or is fighting itself to move.

I can't visualize "bottom rod" at the moment. Been some time since last I looked. But, disconnect it and see if anything changes
