Default Maintenance literature

I'm looking for advice on the manuals I'll be needing to get this car into shape(series 1) especially electrical and controls related.

My next Project is to figure out how the heater control works and why it's not. I know the heater core and blowers work because I connected the shuttle valves directly to a vacuum source and got heat, lots of it! So I'm guessing the heater control knob sends a signal to a controller that uses variable amounts of vacuum to proportionally open these shuttle valves? Any help would be appreciated.

I sent you a request to reply to my email address for the requested information..

Decided it was easier to just add the .pdf here... tells the whole heating and AC story... but if any of the heating controls are broken (other than the nipples which can be repaired) there are almost impossible to find today... there are some upgrades to modern parts that can be done.

Default 1972-1973 electrical is different from 1969-1971 XJ

I have attached two pages of the '73 schematics and a extra page with AC stuff... welcome to the mysteries of Jag electrical systems... I had to get these to work on the '72 LT1/700R I used to have... the differences are minor but important. Sorry they are inverted but you should print out several copies of each... I keep one set in the car trunk in a large binder with other needed
special information for when on the road and away from my computer.

If you need Lump electrical information, determine which kit was used or show us pictures of the motor mounts so we can help you...

There is no mention of the locations of the "dreaded" bullet connectors... they cause grief with bad connections (clean them)... plus the relay location are
not noted on the schematics.

You need to purchase the Jag CD that has the parts and service manuals.. it is available on the other Jag Forum... maybe here too but I have had mine for many years and this Forum was "second".

Thanks again Roger, this gives me something to start with. I'll be buying the cd's soon. The PO said there was a plate with the company who'd done the conversion on it in engine bay but I haven't seen it yet.
