Getting excited about getting my 76 XJ12L running again. She has been sitting for 10 years waiting on me to do something.
First order of business is pull everything off top of the engine, clean fuel lines and test injectors. Squirt of trans fluid in cylinders just for good measure.
Had this old girl since 1987, just cannot give her up.

Ditto.
Somewhere I stumbled on to a guy bringing a seized ancient one lung engine back to life. Ingenius ideas displayed. One was his test gas tank.
The inside of the original was pretty grungy!!! A pole clamped to the lift where the little engine was also clamped. A lenth of tubig curled around the pole from the top to the miniature carburater. Filled the tube. rope pulled the engine, fired up !!!r and yes he prelubed the cylinder in ATF.

Well, the journey to financial ruin has begun! Cut the belts off, removed the intake manifolds, ignition, air pump, and wiring from engine. Forgot that the engineering department at Jaguar had a sick twisted sense of humor. Either that or they figured you would remove the engine to remove the air pump, man I had forgotten how to displace my elbow to get to things.
The first thing I did was an inventory of things in the car and in the trunk. Found a box in the trunk from Terry's Jag with a new ignition, wires, and distributor cap!! Bingo!
I pressurized the oil system with a garden sprayer filled with five quarts of 10W30. I attached the hose where the oil pressure idiot light sensor was. Worked great, I think. At least I like to think it flowed around the crank and cam. There was 5 quarts of fresh oil i the pan anyway.
