Decided to finally join this site and forum....just had my 1986 Vanden Plas out for a fuel pump repair....this car is still a beaut! Garage Queen with 65K, antelope paint.

I still have a second set of original Pirelli P5's, and will replace them shortly because of the age....been thinking about keeping them in the event of a resale....and new owner wants to show the original "tyres", which are no longer available.

Any feedback on replacement tires is appreciated.

 

The size for your '86 is 215/70x15. Very common size BUT if you want a performance type tire with a high speed rating, as originally installed by Jaguar, there is virtually nothing out there except the Pirelli P4000...and those might be all gone now as well.

Going to a 205/70x15, 215/65x15, or 225/60x15 might offer more choices.

Some owners are going to 16" wheels to get a better choice of tires

If you are happy with a rather ordinary tire then you have many choices in the 215/70x15 size.
