Default NOS SU AZX 1307 Fuel Pump – Confirm Series I / Early Series II Fitment?

Hi all,

Before I list this on eBay, I’d appreciate a quick fitment confirmation from the XJ experts here.

I have a genuine SU electric fuel pump, part number AZX 1307, made in the U.K., still new old stock in the original SU box. It was purchased decades ago as a spare for a mid-1970s carbureted XJ6 and was never installed.

Red caps are still in place. It has never been mounted or test-run.

Can anyone confirm:
  1. Exact Series I years this pump applies to?
  2. Whether this is correct for early carbureted Series II (’73–’75) as well?
  3. Any US vs UK market differences I should note?
I want to make sure it goes to someone restoring a car correctly rather than mis-listing it.

Happy to post additional photos of casting numbers or ports if helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Unless it's a bargain, I have heard that the Hardi pumps are much better and longer lasting than the SU.

For Series 2 XJ, I see the pump specified as AZX1301 for VIN after 2T12486/ 2T55216/ 2S4889/ 2S50107. No idea what the difference is between AZX1301 and 1307.

Default XJ6 AZX1301 Fuel Pump

Thanks—super helpful. If anyone has a cross-reference showing AZX1307 vs AZX1301 differences (pressure spec, port orientation, supersession, etc.), I’d love to pin it down. I can post photos of the pump head/ports and any cast numbers if that helps.
