Default OOPS I helped my antenna, dumb move

The antenna on my 1986 XJ6 was a little slow so I helped it go back down (I KNOW, I KNOW, NOT THE SMARTEST THING TO DO) so now it skips/hesitates and only goes back down half way. I don't want to be dumb again and push it all the way down. Any help here??

Greetings David. Check workshop manual and write-ups on Sticky 'How To' here . . . you will find a detailed explanation and pics of how the antenna works. Enabling drive is via a toothed nylon-like rod/tape that is easily stripped. Don't smack yourself too much . . . many before you have done similar. Time to source a new replacement, clean out any residue and observe advice on lubrication.

Cheers,

Ken
