The 'others' in the families...
We are a large, friendly international family of Jag owners here. I feel it is about time we got to know each other a little better. I thought it would be cool to show and tell everyone else our other forms of transport that we drive, past and present. I will go first.
This is a Ford Fairmont, Australian made. It has the 5.4 litre V8 out of the F150 american truck.
This is a Locomotive, made by GM in the 1950's, and rebuilt in the 1970's. It has a 5520ci (that is correct, 5520ci, 127litre) V12 turbocharged diesel. puts out about 2700hp.
Now, your turn, SHOW US WHAT YA GOT!!!

HR ute, 186 with 3 speed was a favourite too,did 165k miles in between 1992-1997. Only failed to get me home once, loose earth wire on LPG. Sold it when kids came along and needed a family wagon.
Miss the XJ Cherokee the most, had it from 1997 until 2014. 250000 km covered from Cape York to Tasmania, Broken Hill, Uluru, Birdsville track and everywhere in between with a growing family and camping gear. Still kicking myself for upgrading it.(or downgrading depending on how you look at it)
Plenty of others come and gone but they were only a means of transport. The bikes a another whole story.

Richard:
At one time, I used to drive through Richmond on the way to the bridge to Marin county. There was a "large vehicle' wrecking yard along the way. Construction equipment and usually a few locomotives similar to the one you reported.
And, we have a small RR in nearby Sunol. On an abandoned stretch of track once used by SP. One or two of those behemoths there, as well. Smaller ones do the work, though.
You tube has/had a piece of firing up really large engines. One or more of the gigantic V12'sa you describe. It seems it takes more than merely twisting a key.
Drive occupants here:
1. 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. "modernized" old tech OHV straight six. Still tight, shiny and dependable.
2. Derelict VW beetle based Dune buggy, circa 1964. Home built, but resembling the EMPI kits of decades past. Ugh, it's flat four is stuck. Not uncommon.
