Default Replacing corroded fuel pipes above the IRS.

Dear friends, before I install my overhauled IRS, I would like to replace the fuel pipes that have corroded over the past 34 years. I do not think they are leaking fuel yet, but are quite badly rusted. I see that SNG Barratt no longer supply these and I am asking for advice. Will I need to dismantle them one at a time and go to specialist and have them fabricated to pattern, or is there a supplier known to the forum who may be able to supply new ones?
Any advice would be very welcome.
Kind regards, Danny.

Are corroded fuel line pipes an MoT failure point?

Probably best and least expensive choice is to have them fabricated by a local garage or Jaguar specialist.

Yes, if they are too corroded, they will fail the UK MOT test. Many thanks for your reply and advice. Regards, Danny.

No supplier AFAIK.

I did this recently. Not becasue they were rusty but becasue I needed the fuel line to run down the LH side instead of the RH side in a AJ16 conversion.

I simply used 3/8 coated steel fuel line and removed the T fitting with a brazing torch and cleaned it up with some wire brushes. Then I used the old line as a mirror template and re-brazed the T fitting and couplers on the new lines where necessary. I used OATY 95 flux and silver solder. This is the only flux I found that works well on steel lines.

Ends were flaired or beaded as necessary using this ...

...and OEtinker clamps make for clean and safe hose connections over beaded ends.

Many thanks, I was unsure about tackling this myself. But now I am thinking I will be OK. Kindest regards, Danny.
