First I'll say that a fair amount of up-down movement is normal.
Anyhow....
The mount is an assembly of many pieces. The replaceable parts are two rubber blocks and a center bushing, which looks like a spool. Make sure you have all 3 parts before starting.
Not sure how much detail you want. Essentially, safely elevate the car, use a small jack under the trans (with a block of wood) to take the weight off the spring and mount, unbolt everything, remove, disassemble, reassemble, reinstall.
Pay very close attention to how everything comes apart. It's a little tricky. It is possible to reassemble the mount backwards. A diagram from the parts catalog is helpful.
There's a L-shaped bracket that sorta goes under the mount. When everything is correctly assembled the bottom of the "L" will be parallel to the bottom of the transmission pan.

With some planning and fabricating I'm sure it would be possible, Carl.
The Jag mounting system is prime example of needless complexity but, at the end of the day, it's probably less effort to 'deal with it' than to fabricate a new mounting system.
If this was something that need frequent re-visiting it would be worth the effort to simplify..... but the mounts last for decades.

I couldn't find any trans mount for your car on the O'reilly site.
Post a link of what you got.
As mentioned earlier, you need three pieces to do the job right
