Default S3 Radio AUX input

I'm looking to ad some AUX input in my factory Jaguar XJ Series 3 radio to make it more comfortable to listen to the music what i loved, not vintage cassettes. Does anybody have done it before or seen some instructions over the net how it can be done?
Does anybody also know the name of manufacturer of the radio?

the original manufacturer was in Japan, Sankyo I think.

these units have no auxiliary inputs or outputs. The only way to add CD's or MP3's,
is to find a cassette Adapter that connects to a portable CD or MP3 player.

I have also CD-Changer in the back. As i know you can link the sound signal to the CD changer cable to replace the Audio signal what goes inside the headunit. I'm thinking in a something like that way.

or just replace the old cassette unit with a modern unit that has auxiliary inputs like USB.

I still play cassettes and I have a cassette adapter that connects to my MP3 player.

Your radio is made by Alpine. It's model AJ-8700 and made in Japan.
Dont know how to add capabilities -- but would agree with other posters that you're probably better off with a newer replacement unit if more features is important.
Regards,
Andrew.

Thanks,
This is what i'm talking about: SOVEJAG XJ40
But i didn't understand the French so i can't say for sure.
I have done the similar thing in my previous X308. I have bought the adapter what i have pluged in to the CD-changer cable and gets aux in. So i think is Jaguar Radio has got M-bus or Ai-net i can try to use the same way.
Does anybody have the photo of back og the radio?

I think all those adapters having worth quality of audio signal so it's always better to break the audio signal straight to the audio processor inside the radio.

There are specialists out there who can add all sort of features to old radios

Here's a couple of many

Bill the Radio Guy - Services

http://www.taymanelectrical.com/stereo.htm

There are even some adventurous DIYers out there on YouTube adding MP3 capability etc to older radios

Cheers

I was walking around to find the right solution and i decided to try the thing waht i was allready telling on the beggining. I have solder the R, L and Ground signals to the M-bus so now the AUX signal interrupt signal form the CD changer and the sound from AUX starts playing. Very easy modification. I have also ordered the AUX plug so i will put it in the armrest to keep 100% oiginal look.
And yes i have mixed up the radios. The one i have is AJ9200R.

No comment about the radio situation, but I have to say the wood grain pattern on your dash and ski slope is quite nice...

Hi Rostman! I am interested about your answer, do you have AJ8700 with the CD charger in the trunk? If you have a CD charger, it will be posiible to install AUX. I thought that AJ8700 doesnt have CD button. Martin
