Hey ya'll
Was wondering if it is possible to put a series 1 style front end on a series 3??
I love the look of the series 1 but I have a 3 and I've put a lot of work in it already and don't want to start over with a series 1. I have been doing some searching and only found one thing that said you need to change hood, both fenders, front bumper. This article said something about the series 1 hood being a tad bit shorter which would create a bigger gap up by the cowl?? also said something about doing some fab work (which is fine with me) for the bumper brackets and the hood hinges. My question is has anyone ever done a series 1 to series 3 conversion?? If so any pic of what was done.
This is what I am after...

I'm sure its been done but generally speaking the series 2 euro look is more attractive and has been done by many. You seem to have a good handle on doing the conversion based on the information you posted. The only thing I can add are some incidentals like the lower grill, turn signals. As far as I know the cowl is in the same place. The cowl appears shorter on the series 3 because the front wind shield on a Series 3 is laid down and forward a bit more than on the series 1/2. The lower valance or front roll pan is also different on the series 1 so you need to change that too.
