Default Series 1 ventilation.

Hi guys,
Just fitted a pair of Series 2 heater motors to my Series 1 hoping the more powerful units would boost demister air flow as well as dash side-vents and bottom footwell vents.
Was'nt too difficult to re-engineer them, but result is a total DUD. There is virtually no flow from any of the vents. But switching fans from low to high speed sounds like a wind tunnel testing a C5A Galaxy, so the new fan motors themselves are working really well.
My vacuum system is still faulty. Need to replace the pipes so that the heater tap (replaced) works plus the scuttle vent actuator.
QUESTION: Does the engine running (ie manifold vacuum present) affect the interior air vent controls? I would have thought not. The service manual heater diagram is akin to the tentacles of an octopus.
Thanks for any tips and advice.
Cheers
Peter.

as far as I know, the vent system does not work without engine running.

Thanks guys,

Looks like the centre console has to come out (for about the fifth time).
Had to happen, should have checked those vacuum pipes when I had the opportunity.

But, we are in Covid lockdown, so what am I complaining about?

P.

Yes mate, but some of us are slow learners and forget easily!

Actually, the factory manual is not too bad in this particular area, just a few minor details they often overlook.

But, then there's the dreaded "refitting is the........" punchline.

Do you mean "..........reverse of the removal" ? That sure saves a lot of space on the page.
