No, I'm not being a smart alec !
I truly believe that it is NOT POSSIBLE to replace a rear door glass in a series III car... without destroying the door !

If I am wrong, and someone CAN guide me.... I would be most appreciative... and, it would be what's needed to persuade me to get back into one of these cars.

 

You might want to describe the problem you are having / why the door needs destroying.

I reached a similar point on another car , but it was just my assumption that the glass shoud be able to be removed without major dismantling. It was simply that the small qtr glass at the rear of the window opening had to be out before the main window glass could come out, and the glass came out upward through the normal slot (longer now with the qtr glass removed) rather than out through the door card area like the front door.

 

Its doable... I had mine out to replace the chrome along the bottom of the window when i painted.
it wasnt that bad, there were two big screws by latch and then a few along top and on hinges side near the top, then whole top of door comes off...
I did have to drill out two of the small screws as they were not accepting the screwdriver, but it took less than an hour to get glass out..
