Default Shuddering under light acceleration

I have a 1974 SII XJ6, it shudders under light acceleration, I have changed the Plugs, tuned and balanced the Carbs, and made sure the trans fluid and final drive oil is at the correct levels. Where do I look next? could it be an ignition thing? it doesnt vibrate when coasting or under heavy acceleration. Thank you for any assistance.

Obviously you're thinking the shudder is engine roughness....but could you be feeling a shudder in the drive train? Such as a broken transmission mount or U-Joint failing?

Cheers

Yeah very good point, it may well be, I'll inspect the mounts this weekend. Thanks for the reply
