I am thinking about making wood handles for the T bar shifters as I have had a couple of enquiries. Howevr I do not know the shape or thread size. Can anyone help me?
Bob
Thanks for the reply Elinor, may I be a real nuisance and
ask if you would provide the 3 missing dimensions on the sketch so I can make pair?
Bob
As Requested:
Length of half T-bar handle: 1.275 inches
Diameter of T-bar handle: 0.862 inch (Diameter of shift lever end: 0.839 inch)
Length of exposed stud: 0.623 inch
Thread is 1/4x28 and NOT 1/4x20 as previously stated.
Shift lever internal thread: 1/4x28

Ahh, I see now. Thank you Elenor, I was assuming that both sides of the knob had the stud, but now your photos explain it all. So I can now go ahead and and cut some wood.
Bob
Ah, Yes. The old, 'Picture vs 1000 words' thing.
The other half of the handle has a captive nut, but you probably already figured that out.
I'm glad I could help.

I cannot turn stone. Jade acrylic would be doable if I have the material. Does the jade have a "grain" in it or just solid colour?
I have commenced the wood ones.
That table looks great, I am just in the process of making a test set to see how long they take (the main factor in the price). When I finish them, I will post an ad in the Market Place forum.
