Default Thermotime Switch Reference Voltage

In a 1985 Jaguar XJ6 4.2 when the key is in the on position should there be a 12v reference at the connector? In any event I don't have 12v in the on position.

You should have B+ voltage at the TT switch (on the white/purple wire) only when the key is turned to the 'start' position.

You should not have voltage to the TT switch with the key merely turned 'on'.

Cheers
