Trans light stays on
I am working on a 93 XJ6 with 150.000 miles on it.
Please help, my TPS was bad did have a code 17 in the VCM so found a new one on E bay replaced it, trans light now stays on, engine will start and stall after 10 seconds so far no one has a clue what could be wrong. One Jag mechanic I talk to he had never heard of it. Any help would be vary much appreciated. Tony.

You are new, so welcome.
Your '93 XJ6 is known as an XJ40.
The cars in here have NO trans light in any shape or form.
I would repost thiis in the XJ40 section for a very concise, quick fix.
