Been trying to figure rogue PO wires in boot, some that went down to the rear right lamp vanished and i figured they travelled across to the left lamp but the left lamp wires travel down the car on the left side on their own. so i opened the tyre spare bay and fished around by the fuel pump (white/purple) wire only to find four more wires all of which went up to the right lamp area i'd been fusing about. i cant figure why links for these light (park/stop) need a terminus in the spare tyre bay....
also the other change over wire (white/greeen) sits in the left lamp cavity but i cannot see how to feed it through into the area behind the tyre bay to join with the white/purple and other wire to enter the boot... feed some wire in the hole and its goes to eternity.
currently the left side park/stop are not working.
damn, more bloody wires that don't go no place. its parliament, lots of connections but no function.
a PO had done a fairly hash job of attaching a trailer socket in the boot bay itself cut into the wires on the right side. i suppose the park/stop ones located down by the fuel pump could be the correct connectors for a trailer socket but would have expected to see indicator extensions then too. the white/pink and brown/purple are perplexing.
I don't' know if this is relevant, but I was poking around in my '86 SIII and I found this connector in the left rear ahead of the tail light. I checked the operation and determined it must be for a trailer, caravan in the UK. Not necessary to cut for a trailer connection in this car. I added the find to the S57 electrical so I don't forget about it, but I don't intend to tow with the car.
interesting. the wires i have come across from the right side of car and emerge from hole behind the fuel pump, i wish they made as much sense as the ones on your plug, the stop/park would make sense but other two wires seem misplaced being at rear of car.
