Default Vacuum Thermo Switch C37430 and C37115

Does anyone have a clear explanation as to what the Vacuum Thermo Switch does? And... I have a broken C37430. Two of the vacuum tubes are broken off. I've attached a pic of mine from the underside and would love to know what vacuum tubes are supposed to go to what. I think they are supposed to go to Carbs 1 & 2, distributor advance, and one back to the intake manifold? But I don't know which one goes where. I've numbered them. Any ideas?

And... Anyone have a C37430 or C37115 spare they want to sell?

have you checked the illustrations at SNG Barrat USA? Also chances are they can get the part if they don't stock it.

My experience with Ser II cars is nil.

However, those devices are typically used to delay and/or limit the vacuum advance.

Or, since some older Jags used a vacuum retard system, limit/control the vacuum retard.

Not much help, I know.
