I have purchased an XJC 5.3 where the previous attempts to re-align the doors have resulted in stripped bolts and the use of a range of different bolts on (I assume) re-tapped holes probably using a Helicoil or Time Cert. The job has been butchered. Can someone tell me what the arrangement of the front door hinge bolting is inside the A pillar. Neither the Repair Manual nor the Parts manual offers any insight into what the internals of the A Pillar arrangement might be. I assume there is a tapped receiving plate for the hinge bolting located inside the A pillar. I would be grateful for experience / recommendations on a permanent repair and method.
