Hi guys,

I know most of the dash trim kits on eBay are pieces of trash. Does anyone have any experience with these:

I must say.. I'm tempted.

 

I bought this kit as a temporary solution, until I refinish the dash I have from my other xj6 I scrapped a few years ago.

Its been 3 years now and this kit has held up perfectly on the dash itself. the only problem I ran into is the trim for the door wood strips. get a color that resembles the wood you have on your doors because if you try to lay the strip it will more than likely look like rubbish. I can post pics if you want.

 

I recommend CGwoodcraft in the USA and he does sell on Ebay and he remakes the real thing not a stick on. His name escapes me but I've purchased many parts from him over the years and he's a very fair guy. His shop is about three hours from me and I've been there at least 3 times. The wood dashes look great, they are very well done and I think they are worth double what he charges. The fit is perfect too. He's a excellent craftsman and has many many colors and styles of wood to choose from.

Funny / ironic story.... The last time I visited his shop in CT there was a wind storm and trees were falling down and had blocked many roads. We detoured here and there but I made it to his shop got my parts and also made my yearly trip to Stew Leaonard's which the kids and wife enjoy tool. Referring to the downed trees I said to my wife in the car, "I'm glad we live in the city where stuff like this doesn't happen." When I returned home a huge tree had crushed my other so bad it was totaled.
