Default XJ6 ignition issue

I have a great 1989 XJ6 that won't shut off. Starts but I can pull the key out and try to turn off but to no avail. Any suggestions?
I've read- change the tumbler, purchase a new ignition switch, any experience here?

1989 ? Is it a XJ-40 ? Or a 1989 V12 with the Series 3 body ?

You appear new, so welcome.

Please do a proper into in the New Members Area when time permits.

The 1989 XJ6 is known as an XJ40, as you now know.

I suggest a repost in the XJ40 section, where many experts will quickly sort that issue for you.

The cars in here are less complicated in the electroncs than the XJ40.
