Hello, just a few questions:
Does Dexron replace the old Type A fluid mentioned in the service manual? And does brand matter? Also, how many litres does the transmission take?

Ok I found out my transmission needs 8.5 litres. There's a shop nearby selling Dexron III from Mannol, with a price a lot cheaper than most brands (16€ for 4 litres), so cheap it makes me suspicious of its quality.
Anyone had any experience with this brand?

just changed ours, 71 with a 4.2, and we were told to use type F.

No issues at all.
