Default 1990 V12 Diagnostics

I have a 1990 V12 XJS with the DAC6338 ECU, I also have this trip computer:

Can I get fault codes from this trip computer? if not how do I get fault codes? does the PDU work with this model?

You won't get any fault codes with that trip computer. I'm not 100% sure, but I don't believe there are any fault codes produced by that ECU.

What fault are you trying to track down?

I don't have a fault, I'm trying to work out how to talk to the diagnostic link in the ECU.

Well it looks like its a factory test port that doesn't come out of the ECU so it won't be that straightforward. I'll have to try and work it out from the source code.

There is no diagnostic output on the ECU (at least the external connector) there may be a header on the PCB, although I would suspect it will be EPROM, I have not opened my ECU yet.

I have an EPROM in my ECU, I took it out and pulled the code from it and found a serial handler.
There is a three-pin header on the PCB that is connected to the serial port that can be used to communicate with the processor, it doesn't come to the outside world. It is obviously something that Lucas used to test the ECU on their assembly line.

I have set the clock many times and after a few seconds it no longer shows correct time, nowhere close to correct time, all the other buttons work right.
