Default 1990 xjs jaguar v12

My 1990 jag has only 13,000 miles got it from my mom. she says the the car has never had any problems. it sat for 2 years when i bought it from her. it ran fine for about 2000 miles then all of a sudden it shuts off on road. now it shuts down all the time. can hear fuel pump, replace sensor which controls ecu, don't know if bad gas filter or timing sensors. anybody got any ideas

Cam/crank position sensors?, your car will/should have two, and if I'm not mistaken they use a magnet to determine the signal or otherwise perform their functions. Its 10pm and I don't know where my notes are so I can't help you 'test' it right now...but I'm sure someone will chime in shortly.

I'm guessing it runs fine when its dead cold and as soon as it reaches near operating temp it cuts out like a light switch?

If somehow it isn't one or both of those I'd start the car and begin jiggling wires as the thermal expansion from the engine at operating temp MIGHT cause a break in a critical connection somewhere, but in my experience that would result in at least some sputtering until it dies out. Sounds like one of the sensors.

I had the same issue, diagnosed as a bad front crank sensor and it starts/runs fine now.

Where are you in Ohio...I am just south of Canton.
