Thanks...where is the silly thing - how do you get to the actual fuses?

Open the door, look for a plastic screw cap on the 'A' post(PART # 9). Use a coin or similar and undo it and pull the pin out. Pull down on the knee bolster (PART # 1), Its clipped up and Bobs yer Uncle.....

nope, Passenger box is behind the small panel under the glovebox......look at pic above. The large plastic screw (#9) is seen when the door is open.
I take it your car is LHD......

Thank you very much...I was thrown off by the pic (portion) showing the passenger side fuse box. And, further, my retaining screw on the driver side is missing - and the cover was slightly ajar covering the hole ... I was afraid to pull on anything until I knew for sure what to expect! Your pic with the red arrows was superb and much appreciated! Take care...

Anyone have a diagram or photo of what size fuse does what in the fuse box of '88 '89.
