I need to top up my transmission but cant find Dexron 11 or 111. What's the ATF that I can use in my car? I know it's a GM 400 and many sites recommend Amsoil ATF for that transmission but I thought I'd double check with our experts on this board.

Ordinary Dexron will work just fine. I'm surprised you can't find Dexron III, it has to be the most common fluid out there. Often generically called ATF, make sure the bottle says it meets Dexron II or III and it will work. All the major brands make a compatible fluid.

 

Thanks Jagboi. Yes. I've seen lots of ATF. I'll check if it's compatible with Dexron 11 or 111.
