Hey all,

I'm new to this forum after recently purchasing a 1993 XJS. Overall, the car is great but, as with any car close to 20 years old, it has some kinks.

I don't want to flood with questions so I'll ask a fairly simple (what I believe to be, anyway) one to start.

The hood latch on the passenger side is missing the square-looking bolt that secures the cable, so when I shut the hood the latching mechanism doesn't pull back. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement factory bolt or, if that doesn't work, a reasonable fill-in replacement? Or will I have to get a whole new cable system. I've seen them on various parts websites but didn't want to buy one until I was sure that's what it needed.
