Default 1995 xjs 6cyl

hello there,
my 95 xjs started shifting erratically. the diagnosis box came up as two bad injectors and a TPS throttle positioning sensor. my guy checked the injectors and the were fine.
we put a used tps on it ,then the tranny stayed in third gear.
so...I noticed my battery was bad so I bought a new one and put it in.
the "car began shifting properly all day yesterday" after my buddy reset all the codes. This morning however ... she started shifting badly again?

I really don't have the funds to be putting on a $400 TPS and other things if that wont fix it? any suggestions? Thank you very much.

You can get the TPS for less than 300.00 if you order it from England. They do tend to fail, specially, if like most people the oil changes are always from underneath the car. The oil in the air intake drips down to the throttle body and to the TPS. Also just because a TPS tests as "good" it does not mean it is. It's just good at the time of testing. I found that out the hard way.
