1996 xjs Temp sender transducer
As I continue on with updating any issues or potential issue I am now replacing the temp sender transducer (unit that sends signal to the gauge)……..I think.
The temp gauge did not seem to be displaying the proper temp. I looked at the wire connection from the sender to the gauge. Wire and connection was very dirty and I noticed that the center portion of the sender (where the blade sticks up) seemed to move. I was thinking this was the issue.(gauge not receiving the proper signal) and displaying erratic temp. The car runs perfect and does not overheat!!
I replaced the sender transducer today thinking this will take care of the issue. After replacing the transducer and a new blade female terminal, upon turning the ignition on the gauge pegs to the RED OVERHEAT SIDE. I took the car for a spin….the gauge did not move and the cooling system was cold.
WHAT DID I DO WRONG OR IS IT SOMETHING ELSE BESIDES THE NEW TRANSDUCER?
Thanks as always for your input
