Default 235/45-17?

is anyone running these?

the best fit for maintaining wheel/tire dimensions seems to be 235/50-17, compared to stock. but the options for the 235/50 are not as great as the 235/45's.

seems also like 245/45 would fit, and be closer to stock, but prices seem to jump up considerably.

so, these are my questions:
is anyone running the 235/45-17 size?
notice any improvement on acceleration with the smaller tire? (i guess you'd have to compare to the 235/50's on the same wheels.)
how significant is the speedo/odo discrepancy for normal use?
does the sidewall appear too small for the car, or the wheel/tire overall appear too small for wheel well?
any other blatant reason not to consider this size tire?

245-50-17 came stock on the XK8, but those are hard to find. I'm using 245-45-17 on XK8 Revolvers. No problems, easy to find. That was stock tire size on Mustang Gt's for a number of years.
