Default 76 XJS with Chrome Bumpers?

Hi Friends
I'm looking into purchasing my first XJS, don't really know to much about them but doing a lot of study and reading. I have found a car that I like but its quite a long way away, but I have someone going to inspect it for me.
I have spoken to the owner countless times who assures me the car is in excellent condition.

One thing that just sort of dawned on me last night while reading up on different build periods of the XJS, was the fact that earlier cars had plastic/rubber bumpers and did not have any chrome trimming. This particular car has Full chrome bumpers and chrome trimming everywhere.
Was there special editions of cars? or certain cars for certain areas?
Without vin numbers I don't really know when this car was built but it must be pre 80's as the aerial is on the left hand rear panel opposed to the right.
The other interesting feature is the side mirrors are color matched to the car?

The person looking at it for me is not an XJS expert but quite savvy with cars, my thought if the body and rolling chassis is good then the drive-train can be sorted, this is only going to be a Sunday car, and something to tinker with.
A couple of pics,
Whats your thoughts?

Cheers
Katoh

Colleagues
Thanks for the responses, as it has worked out for me this one was not meant to be. Distance and work commitments have put a stop to it.
I will look around for one a little more local.

It is custom, but if it had been done right, I actually like the look of it. Good luck in your continuing search!

Yep could not agree more, it has a certain appeal that I really do like.

It has given me some really good ideas for when I do buy one, notice I wrote when not if. I like the quad headlights and the chrome bumbers and trims gives it a real muscle car look, twin chrome exhaust exhaust and the only other touch would be the factor style small back fin.

It's good to dream, Ill still keep looking.
