Default 89 Jag XJS Convertible top sequence

Hi all, first time Jag Owner! My 89 is in the process of being restored. My convertible top hydraulic pump had a leak (got that fixed!!!). Got everything hooked back up, and now my quarter windows go down when the top goes up and up when the top goes down! Obviously I messed up the top sequence. How do I get it back in sequence?

Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Default

Put the top down and let the windows go up. Then either pull the fuse that runs the power windows or disconnect the electrical connectors from the motors on both windows.

Now put your top up. Then disconnect the battery and reinstall the fuse or connectors. Reconnect the battery and test the top. Hopefully your windows will now be back in sync.

Default Figured it out....

Well, I figured it out, and it was a dumb mistake on my part. When reassembling the hydraulic pump motor after replacing the oil seal, I inadvertently turned the end of the motor housing (the part with the contacts) 180 degrees from the original position. That caused the motor to work in exactly the opposite direction. I put the top of the motor housing back into the original position and everything works fine, without any leaks I might add!

Just an FYI for others who rebuild their hydraulic pump motor!
