Default 93 XJS radio. Is it interchangeable

Hello
I have a 93 XJS and I am trying to find an original radio to put back in the car. I have found many 90-94 XJ6 radios and a few 95-96 radios. Do any of these work in the 93? If I am not mistaken I have recently en a 93 XJS on eBay with a 95-96 radio. Anyone know other years work?

Default found on JCNA web site

"For XJS VIN#'s 179737 to 223246, the radio part numbers went like this:

LHE4100BA Original part number
LHE4100FA Superseding part number
Currently no longer available from Jaguar

Remanufactured radios used the original part number with a /R [slash R] suffix.

The best bet now is a place that repairs Alpine radio equipment. We have used them numerous times with good success. Below is a link to their repair form that has all the contact numbers. Give them a ring and they will tell you how to send the radio in.

Good luck!"

Default This may help as well...

https://www.jaguarclassicparts.com/h...cationType=JCP

Drill down on late model XJS; in car entertainment; radio; radio cassete player and then select the country. Provides the same OE part number as above.

Default Original radio/cassette deck

Just saying,
I've just replaced my stock '89 Jag radio/cassette deck and it does work great, have the trim ring, original mounting tabs, factory manual plus the radio code booklet and code cards if you find it works for your application. Only downside, I did cut the wires between the radio and harness plug, but they are taped separately, and I have the wiring colour codes to follow for re-hookup.

Everything will work in everything as the XJS just has a standard single DIN slot. The question is whether you are willing (and able) to cut the loom, which may be required.

Are you looking to get a 93 radio because you want the car to be back to correct spec ? (For me that would be the only reason to do it, because there are much, much better stereos out there today with a lot of features that were not there in 93)

I have a 92 car that I took the alpine head unit out of........ If you really, really want to be authentic and back to factory spec, this head unit may be the one you are looking for. Let me know if you want me to go try and find it (It's in a pile of XJS parts, but it's a big pile, if you know what I mean. I also have the Alpine 6 disc CD changer....)

@Esprit

I went to have a look for the head unit..... unfortunately, I can't find it (or the other 3 head units I though I had) I'm suspecting they have been lost in my recent house move :-(

Sorry to promise then not deliver...... hopefully you can find one somewhere.

This guy in LA breaks lots of XJSes and would be worth a phone call..... this particular car looks extremely original (even has the factory phone) so likely it's got the correct stereo too...... PARTING OUT: 1992 JAGUAR XJS V12- 21K ORIGINAL MILES (LIGHT WIRE FIRE)
