we have cleaned throttle body, replaced mouse junk filled air filter, replaced heat sensor, adjusted idle
car was great for one day then doing same thing- idles & runs fine except when at a stop
what now ? Idle valve replacement? MAF sensor?

 

Check for vacuum leaks. There are lots of vac hoses especially around the evap canister. Good luck, doesnt sound like an expensive fix.

 

Would like more diagnostics. Does it stall out at every stop? Warm engine? Cold engine? What if you keep your foot on the gas pedal, keeping the RPMs up when stopped? What is your RPMs at idle? Cold? Warm? Is it smooth? Lumpy?

If you had mice in your air filter, they may have destroyed your MAF. Have you cleaned that?

 

Could easily be the Throttle Body Spring

As Jaguar upgraded the Spring for a stronger one, which may have something to do with the way that She idles

 

My stalling problem with my 1996 was fixed when I replaced the EGR valve. I don't know if cleaning the existing valve would help, but it might be worth a try.
