95 xjs gas gauge fluctuation
Hey Guys,
I need some serious help. I live in LA and I have 95 XJS 4.0 6 liter Coupe car. Couple days ago, I realized that my gas gauge started to fluctuate while I was driving. It goes all the way to "Empty" then come back to the normal gas level. Then, it moves to the middle and all around.
So, I asked couple places here in LA and they are asking for so much money just to figure out where the problem is, like if it's a sender problem or something else. (Hourly labor rate) Anybody has any idea what Jaguar mechanic would charge me a decent amount for this issue anywhere in Los Angeles area? Thank you all for help.

Zed,
Start by bypassing the anti-slosh module. There's lots of threads on the forum here about this issue, including one this week. Just do a "Search" on the XJS forum for "anti-slosh module" or even "fuel gauge" and you'll see lots of info.
Good luck
Paul

I trust Pinky's Automotive 5900 Melrose Avenue. Los Angeles. 90038. The owner is Ralph. Eddie is his son. I always trust their prices and their work. Just tell them Tony referred you. I'm sure you'll be pleased.
Did you do a search on your antislosh relay? In the 1996 model year, it’s in the trunk, on the drivers side, tucked away in the upper left hand corner. You will not see it easily. Basically it’s where the fuel filler is.
