Default '96 Convertible with Underside Surface Rust

Hi everyone,
One of the cars I am looking to buy has some surface rust on the underside, should I discard it? is this a normal use time thing that can be remover and protected? If '96 cars are galvanized should this happen ?

Sorry for the amount of questions, this would be my first old-timer and don't want to buy the wrong car.

Just to give some additional info, the rest of the car is really well mantained.

Please see some pics

That looks pretty normal, as far as the photos can be seen. The best thing to do is to take a screwdriver and jab it upwards on any patches that look iffy. If it is solid, all good. If it goes through, forget the car.

I think that looks really quite good! Most of it seems to be on the exhaust pipe which has an expected life anyway,

Based just on those photos, I wouldn't reject it. As Greg says, I would poke further. Particularly around the sills.

Good luck

Paul

Looks good to me.

Make sure the AC works.

Does Cruise Control work?

How old are the coils and the oxygen sensors. If I had an OBD2 device, I would check out the LTFTs
