I've pulled a apart a Crown Victoria police car and the separate trans cooler has it's own thermostat to regulate temperature.

Nope. They have the shared radiator.

My 94 has a separate cooler up front, must be for power steering then. I have not followed the lines back to see where they go.

The power steering cooler is under the B-Bank side exhaust manifold on the subframe.

Oh, and ALL automatics have the radiator fitted with automatic cooler.

The V12s have a total of 4(!) coolers...

- Oil cooler
- AC cooler (technically a condenser)
- Water cooler (radiator with integrated automatic fluid cooler)
- PAS cooler (on subframe)

It doesn't matter if it is a 1987 or a 1996. Even the 4.0l has the integrated automatic cooler...

The only problem with the Jaguar in radiator trans cooler is it's on the HOT inlet side tank, all the other ones I have seen are on the cold outlet side.

I deleted my in rad cooler and run a heatsink cooler behind the bumper.

I have decided to forego the ATF cooler addition to the electric fan setup. Also for now I am leaving the OEM cooler in the radiator hooked up. I will see how the mods I am doing affect temperature. Might revisit in the future. We will not be racing or driving very aggressively. So some radiator maintenance, the dual fan mod, and the new 82 deg temperature switch ought to do the trick. Can't wait to see how she does with new air intakes and a freer exhaust. She was already fun to drive! Now I may have to pretty up the engine compartment. We may start taking her to the local car shows. That is always a fun way to meet people with similar interests. She definitely will be a fair weather cruiser. Retiring soon so maybe I will try to do some of my own maintenance then. Now that I will have it all caught up. Thanks again for all the discussion. It has helped me a lot!

I am fortunate, my mechanic says that mine is in Remarkedly good condition. Especially since I parked it nearly seven years ago, and only added stabil to the gas tank. Where I stored it was a basement garage of a house. Kind of a pain with steep ramp down. It was shielded from changes in temperature and thankfully no mice. Mine just needs routine maintenance and a water pump so far. I know there will be stuff that comes up, but in pretty good shape now.
