New to this forum, not to jags having own 5 over the years.

i have searched on the forum and have not found an answer to this one, I purchased a late XJS 4.0 fitted with the AJ16 engine and GEMs ECU, it's been standing since 2012 having gone in fir paint, now lots of parts robbed off it

seat modules, trim all sorts that could be quietly pinched gone

No fob, just 1 key and scanning the OBD port no codes or alerts, fuel pump runs and all sensors reporting correctly cranks at around 300rpm, pulled a plug, not wet and the COP is not sparking, any ideas where to look?

I am assuming that it's not immobilised due to the pump running and engine turning over so it could be a fuse gone supplying these parts as the ECU triggers an earth.

Bit more diagnosis, the coil drivers and injectors source power from a relay controlled by the ECU, blue base and this is not being livened up, tried jumpering to put power where I need it but still nothing so having to call this immobilised

£300 to have the security removed from the GEMS or put that towards an aftermarket system ..

 

I figured for that much, you could source a spare ECU.

 

No fob so I would need the keys, security module etc, looks like I willl be going stand-alone

I can then junk the inlet, port and cam it and fit throttle bodies to let it breath
