Default Alternator replacement 1993 xjs

Bought a re-manufactured alternator for 1993 XJS 6 Cyl from Auto Geek et net cost about $105.00. Rated by Geek at 150 Amps and other suppliers at 115 amps Some indicate Bosch as manufacturer. Geek papers indicate Motor Car Parts The unit looks very good has external diode and external 2.2 uf condenser.at 100 Volts,. Shaft rotates smoothly, but have not installed yet. To pull up like alternators Google: 15536 Alternator. Will install but would like your opinion on amps 150 or 115, Bosch as manufacturer, and any general comments

A Bosch 115 is the OEM spec. Doubtful it has really been upgraded to 150, that would require different diodes.

afterburner1,

Put in a 120amp alternator which is the correct one for your car. Jaguar had uprated to 120 from 115 when your car was built.

Original by Bocsh. Rebuilt by another, which, who knows. Ugraded in the rebuild. Quite feasible...

115 or 120. No real difference.

As long as the watt requirements are met, most will do. . The system will handle a 140 or more just fine..

I agree, five amps isn't going to make a difference. Now the question will the 115 amp be a drop in to a 120 amp slot. I don't anticipate a problem, but will know this weekend!
Thanks for your response
