Default Another XJS Sighted in Commercial!

Chanel de Bleu commercial uses one. You can't really see the car, but you can tell...

He really annoys me, I'm going to have to sell my car now through fear of association.
Why don't any of these adverts make any sense?

Oh, just in case it's brought up, too, "Chanel"with one "n" is also correct for French.

This happens because so much of our vocabulary comes from the same source that French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Romanian, etc. come from, which is the Latin that the Romans spoke.

I would venture to say that close to 50% of the words you find in the dictionary are from either Latin origins, or Greek origins, such as "ocean", "Pacific", etc.

Cheers,

Right. Romance languages.

And I like the commercial. I don't understand what's so wrong with it

I just don't get it (or the last one); wear this and you can wander around chasing disappearing women, drive your (obviously fabulous) car down a smoky tunnel and end up looking like you've forgotten what you went out for.
It's so far over my head that I guess I'll have to carry on smelling of Old Spice and tobacco.

I am just happy to see a XJS being used in another commercial. Always great to see them being honored. You can tell this XJS is a facelift due to hood.

Hahaha.

It's a French Chanel for men commercial. Completely XJS appropriate. Old spice and XJS , not so much.

I love the Bleu scent, I love the car and I love the ad.

Merde!

I guess I have to be less cryptic when making jokes.

Love the car, love the music, not big on perfume for guys.

Thanks for the link to the commercial though.

I'm not too interested in any over-priced toilet water.

A real man should smell like axle greese, BBQ Beef and grim determination.

Love the Car,
very Art-sy commercial

being a Vocalist I am not allowed to wear any thing that might disturb the respiration of the other singers....

But off season I might give it a tumble...
Hi-karate (cosworth vega)
brute (Camaro)
old spice ( some dodge or vette, or mustang)

GRIN

English Leather Cologne (1992 XJS v12 5.3 )

get it "English Leather" ?

the Chanel people had to go with the XJS because what are they going to use that is a Iconic French auto? just googled the top ten French sports cars and nothing jumped out and a classy every mans Iconic car... there were a few nice ones, but na.....

That does it for me.
I don't want one competing with my Sunscreen.

Are you and Eddie Murphy fan? You just quoted all of the colognes he mentions in an old Eddie Murphy standup album.

Don't believe me?

It's 4 minutes long, but if you are easily offended by language, don't do it. He gets through mentioning all three of the ones you listed (no more, no less) in the first 30 seconds though. It's worth a listen.
