Did you use a kit or built the conversion your self?

Drivenman kit. Not a great “kit”, in the sense it is definitely not entirely plug and play. Some parts didnt fit, I suspect the TKO is different enough from the TKX to cause the issues I ran into. I dont think anyone over there has experience installing one of these so tech help was non existent.

If I did it again, I would piece it together on my own. Could have saved some cash that way.

I’ve done a couple of automatics to manual conversions on Jaguars over the years. They aren’t that complex or silly expensive. If you do the work yourself. About a $4000 budget gets all new components and with a hoist can be done in a weekend. Good used transmission will save you $1500-2,000. You will need a drill press and a way to saw aluminum. Use Chevy manual transmissions. With the Chevy bell housing on any V 12 after 3/4 of 1977. ( if it has an aluminum transmission case that’s the one. If it has the cast Iron case it’s harder.
The only other thing you will need is a brass pilot shaft bushing you’ll need to ream to the size of the pilot shaft used. A machine shop can do it in about 15 minutes.

This is what you will need to make. The holes for the bolts aren’t hyper critical. Drill them slightly oversize They only clamp. The ones holding the plate to the block are Allen head, Flathead, countersunk. the 2 alignment holes are the critical part. You can use brad point bit drill bits to exactly transfer the location. If you don’t have a set of transfer punches. Then drill slightly undersized and ream to final size for accuracy.
The thickness of the plate is determined by the transmission used. You need to measure the length the pilot shaft sticks out past the bell housing and compare it to the depth you project into the crankshaft pilot bearing hole.

They really improve the sporting characteristic of a Jaguar.
