If the wheels and seats are original to the car it's an '89-'91. Without seeing more details it's hard to say. There were very few visible changes '82-'91.

Aside: the original hood emblem has been removed and the holes plugged, and replaced with a leaper....which I think looks awful on an XJS.

Does looks like a clean example, tho.

I believe this is a 90-91
if I am not wrong the 89 had a steering wheel very similar to the previous ones just a little "smoother"

this is a larger one with an airbag, dating it to 90 or 91 i think.

its definitely good looking, the color is kind of boring tbh and I agree with doug, the leaper doesn't look good on that big flat hood, but the panels behind the windows are still very black and that make it look really clean.

all around nice car for sure

Our '89 has the old style steering wheel just with minor refinements (like horn emblems on the sides) so I would agree with sidescrollin.
