Default bad day

just finished the trans cooling rad and I thought I would go to Brooklands today as the Morgan owners club were holding a meeting/display there, I drove off to get some gas and warm it up a bit, when my water light came on, made it a mile or so to the service station popped the bonnet, steam everywhere, and found the lower heater hose had blown straight off the firewall connection, I waited for 1/2hr for it to stop steaming and found the reason it had blown off was that the copper rad pipe that protrudes through the fire wall is short and although it has a hump in it to stop this from happening I had used a basic new, shiny pipe clip which was too wide and subsequently tightened up on the hump itself rather than the rad. side of the hump, so be warned narrow clips only on the heater hose lower or it may mess your day up as well,

that sounds like a good day!
You escaped without expensive damage...

Did you get to Brooklands? I love Brooklands. Full of motoring ghosts. A place of heroes.

My wife's grandfather lapped Brooklands at 122mph in 1929 (Brooklands 500) in an 18.5 litre Mercedes.

18.5it 122mph 1929? no mean feat!
I would have loved to have gone to Brooklands, my confidence is wavering a little so never made it, sorry to say, I will go , the prob was a cheap fix, but I feel another, at least 5 lt of antifreeze approaching, it would have been a great day with the weather. which was really good today, and to see the Morgans. I finished the day up the pub, drinking Amercan real ale, would you believe, thanks for responding guys.
