Battery cover question. 92 XJS V12
On both my XJS' the carpeted battery box cover is/was loose. Getting a couple of self tapping screws is no problem but it appears there was a bar of some sort across the front of said battery cover which would be held in place by the two screws. Anybody with a photo of the original battery cover in place would be helpful. Any advise would be appreciated.

The covers have turn buckles which are plastic and they push into then turn into clips that are on the face of the battery tray and they are color coded to match the cover. They are two choices, grey or rattan. I have both.

Here is the link to the battery cover. Notice how item #5 is fastened. That is the key to holding down the cover. You need all 3 pieces (per set). Total of 2 turnbuckles, etc. The bar across the front was/is to hold the battery down. If this is what you were referring to. It has nothing to do with the cover. The comment from xjsparts if a good lead. I have bought from him on numerous occasions.

Hi Stephen,
My link is to the right of this page in the advertiser section. Its the one with a photo of an XJS with the words XJS PARTS. However I do not have the turn buckles listed, so if you message me at parts@classiccargarage.net then I can paypal invoice you for them. Please include the amount you need ie. 2 or 4 as you mentioned you have two.
Thanks,
LeRoy
