Where could I buy black leather upholstery or used seats in good condition for my 88 Jaguar XJS? I also need to resurface the cracked wood near the auto shifter.

a company called BAS in the states used to advertise black xjs trim etc or you will probably get them via ebay if you wait, and Welsh Enterprises also in the states do a good job with replacement centre wood they also do a cup holders instead of ashtrays option

 

BAS has an excellent reputation.

Other good sources are Paul's Jaguar in Florida and OSJI (Original Specification Jaguar Interiors). They're in Indiana, I think.

Not sure if this would work for you, but the upholsterer that installed my new top also does seats - perhaps a local source could recover yours?

 

I peeled the wood veneer off of my ski slope and re-covered it with black vinyl. Its a good look IMO.

Another option is to find the bits in good condition, and have them dyed.
