Blue Locktite on the water pump studs?
Good afternoon,
I am installing a new water pump on my ’95 4.0L 6 cyl. The new water pump did not come with the fan clutch studs, so I will either reuse the old ones or install new studs.
I can remove the studs from the old water pump shaft without difficulty. It does not appear that they had any type of thread sealant on them from the factory.
Do you recommend using the blue Locktite on the water pump end of the studs?
Also, the new fan clutch has the universal slots in place of the round holes for the water pump studs & nuts. Are split-type lock washers still OK for these as long as the split does not fall into the open slot area?
