My '78 has rubber covered rusty steel bumpers. Dad's '87 has nice shiny aluminum bumpers. When did Jaguar make the change? Can the later polished/chromed bumpers be retrofit to the earlier models? Are different rubber skirts/seals needed?

 

just take them off. they look so much better. just look at listers Jag.

 

In a word yes - the bumper mounts did not change at least for the pre-facelift, and I have seen pre-facelift with the later bumpers so most likely they were the same for the entire lifespan.

There are a few TWR kits around that look pretty good.

TWR kits are nice, little pricey tho.

no bumpers at all, looks like a mexican car, like something is damaged and just removed.

 

Custom Fiberglass Products in Sydney sell the entire kit for $1550au although shipping to the USA might be a bit expensive.
